My faith lets me take considerable liberties with sources of
wisdom. One peculiar side affect of this is
that I’ve more or less developed my own Liturgical Calendar because it makes
more sense to me that the one everyone else currently uses. It makes buying greeting cards rather difficult, but it's a sacrifice I'm prepared to make.
Anyway, in my calendar, today is a Holy Day. Its Saint Groundhog’s Day. Saint Groundhog is the patron saint of
Good Things to Come AND Patience.
Of course, you probably already know that this year St. Groundhog is
predicting an early Spring.
Whatever. That’s more of a
cult of impatience. I mean, OK, I’ll
take what I can get in the way of hope, but the reminder that good things are
just around the corner, whenever they are is quite good enough for me.

Well, now it's a holy day for me too! Thanks, Ed. I love the idea. Patience is a more challenging virtue to cultivate the faster our technology gets. I wonder how much a person's blood pressure would rise if her new MacBook were replaced with her once-amazing Apple II GS...
